Everybody worries. There is not a single person who can put their hand up and say that they have never worried about a single thing in their lives. It could be that you haven’t locked your car door, you left the landing light on, or you can’t remember if you turned the cooker off. These are every day worries that everybody feels.

However, there are other people, people like me, who suffer from extreme anxiety. People who struggle with anxiety issues don’t just worry about the landing light or car door, they worry about everything else around it! They worry about the past, the future, the present, illness, everything you can think of. Most of all, they worry about uncertainty.

People say that anxiety is a mental illness, but I disagree. Struggling with anxiety isn’t an illness. You’re not mentally ill because you worry too much. You’re not weak because you let anxiety control you.

I believe that anxiety is an addiction, not an illness. Like a drug addict, you can’t wake up one morning and say, “I’m never going to worry again!” It’s not that easy. It takes time. It’s not an overnight decision but a lifestyle change.

This website is a place for people who struggle with their anxiety to get help, meet people who struggle with the same thing, and find ways of coping. This is a place where you won’t be judged for your anxiety or a place to be embarrassed about it.
